1. Basic Essay Structure

• Introduction (1 paragraph): Hook + background + thesis
• Body Paragraphs (2-3 paragraphs): Each paragraph has a topic sentence + supporting details
• Conclusion (1 paragraph): Restate thesis + summarize + final thought

2. Introduction

Hook: Get the reader's attention (question, fact, quote, anecdote)
Background: Provide context (2-3 sentences)
Thesis Statement: State your main argument (1 sentence)
Example: "School uniforms have been debated for years. Some say they limit freedom, but others argue they create equality. This essay will argue that school uniforms have more benefits than drawbacks."

3. Body Paragraphs

Use the PEEL method for each body paragraph:
P = Point (topic sentence)
E = Evidence (example, fact, statistic)
E = Explanation (how it supports your point)
L = Link (transition to the next paragraph)

4. Conclusion

• Restate your thesis in different words
• Summarize your main points
• Give a final thought, recommendation, or call to action
• Example: "In conclusion, school uniforms promote equality, save money, and improve focus. Therefore, schools should consider implementing uniform policies."
