1. Coordinating Conjunctions (FANBOYS)

For, And, Nor, But, Or, Yet, So
Use to connect equal grammatical elements (words, phrases, or independent clauses).
With two independent clauses, use a comma before the conjunction.

2. Subordinating Conjunctions

because, although, if, when, while, since, so that, unless, before, after, until
Connect a dependent clause to an independent clause.
If the dependent clause comes first, use a comma.

3. Correlative Conjunctions

both...and, either...or, neither...nor, not only...but also, whether...or
Always come in pairs and must be followed by parallel grammatical structures.
