🏋️ Public Speaking Exercises: Impromptu Speeches, Storytelling, Debates
Exercise 1: Impromptu Speaking
Pick a random topic (e.g., "Why homework is important" or "My favourite holiday"). You have 30 seconds to prepare, then speak for 1 minute. Goal: organise quickly and speak fluidly.
Exercise 2: Elevator Pitch
Describe yourself, a product, or an idea in 30 seconds. Answer: Who are you? What do you offer? Why does it matter? Practice until smooth.
Exercise 3: Storytelling
Tell a 2-minute personal story (a challenge, a success, a funny moment). Focus on structure: beginning (setup), middle (conflict), end (resolution).
Exercise 4: Mini Debate
Take a position on a controversial but safe topic (e.g., "Should students wear uniforms?"). Prepare 3 arguments. Speak for 2 minutes, then switch sides.
Exercise 5: Record and Analyse
Give a 3-minute speech on a topic you know well. Record video. Analyse: eye contact, gestures, vocal variety, fillers. Note one improvement, then re-record.
💡 Do one exercise per day for 30 days. You will see dramatic improvement.
