Parts of Speech (8 main types)

Noun, Pronoun, Verb, Adjective, Adverb, Preposition, Conjunction, Interjection.

Sentence Types by Structure

Simple (one independent clause), Compound (two independent + conjunction), Complex (independent + dependent), Compound-Complex.

Clauses

Independent clause = can stand alone (e.g., "I like coffee"). Dependent clause = cannot stand alone, needs a main clause (e.g., "because it wakes me up").

Subject-Verb Agreement

Singular subject → singular verb (The dog barks). Plural subject → plural verb (The dogs bark).
