1. Exclamation Mark (!) - Strong Emotion
Use when the emotion is sudden, strong, or intense.
• Wow! That's amazing!
• Ouch! That hurts!
• Hooray! We won!
• Oh no! I forgot!
2. Comma (,) - Mild Emotion
Use when the emotion is mild or the interjection flows into the sentence.
• Oh, I see what you mean.
• Well, that's interesting.
• Hey, can you help me?
• OK, I'll do it.
3. No punctuation when part of a sentence
Sometimes interjections are integrated without any punctuation.
• She said oh and left.
• He uttered a quick ouch.
4. Standalone interjections
Alone with an exclamation mark.
• Wow! • Ouch! • Hooray! • Alas!
